Ronaldo sets eyes on record after reaching 10th career goal

Cristiano Ronaldo is now 8 goals behind Iranian legend Ali Daei in international goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo does not seem to be slowing down in his goal form even at 35 years old as he reaches 101 International goals.

The Portuguese international netted his 100th and 101st career goal for his country, becoming only the second player to reach that landmark behind Iranian legend Ali Daei who has 109 for Iran from 1993 to 2007.

Ronaldo opened his goal account for the night against Sweden as he curled the ball I o the top left corner of the post from a free-kick following a foul from outside the box.

He added another in the 72nd minute of the game to make it 2-0 through a sublime shot from outside the box beating Robin Olsen.

The 35-year-old said he is ready to go for the record while stating he is not obsessed with reaching that landmark.

“I managed to beat this milestone of 100 goals and now [I’ll go] for the record. It’s step-by-step. I am not obsessed because I believe the records come in a natural way,” Ronaldo said after the match.

The Juventus forward has now scored most of his international goals against Sweden netting seven times in seven appearances.

Ronaldo is currently the active player with the most goals ahead of India’s Sunil Chhetri 29 and 31 ahead of Barcelona and Argentina star Lionel Messi.
