Winning the La Liga title “makes me happier than champions league” says Real Madrid Zinedine Zidane.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has revealed that winning the la Liga title tastes sweeter than the three champions league titles after being crowned champions with the Spanish giants.

Karim Benzema netted a brace as Los Blancos clinched their 34th La Liga title, their first since 2016/17 season after a 2-1 victory over Villarreal on Thursday night at the Estadio De Stefano stadium.

Real have recorded 10 victories since the return of football amid the coronavirus pandemic and needed just two points from the last two matches to be crowned champions.

But a victory yesterday and a shocking 2-1 defeat Barcelona suffered at the hands of Osasuna meant they are now the kings of Spanish top division.

“The Champions League is the Champions League, but La Liga makes me happier because La Liga is what it’s all about,” the Frenchman told Spanish network Movistar.

“This is a tremendous feeling because what these players have done is incredible. I am lost for words because I am too emotional.”

Zidane has now won 11 trophies with Los over two terms and dedicated the victory to fans of the club who could only watch from home.

“It’s strange for everybody. We would have liked to have been with our fans at Cibeles, but it’s not meant to be,” Zidane said.

“But I’m sure everyone is happy in their homes tonight. The fans always love to see the team win, and we’ve done this for them”
