James Rodriguez news: James has disclosed that Real Madrid Prevented him from Joining a club in Spain, following an offer from the unnamed team.
The Colombia international joined Madrid for a reported fee of £68million in 2014 from Ligue 1 side Monaco on a 5-year contract.
The 28-year-old had an impressive leading the Colombian national team to the quarter-finals of the Rio 2014, he also emerged as the top scorer in the competition.
But, has fallen in the line of the pecking order in Zinedine Zidane’s side, struggling for form and fitness.
The midfielder had just returned from Germany, where he spent a two-year loan with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
According to Daily Mail Rodriguez has stated that there were offers from a Spain team but Madrid did not allow him to leave Bernabeu. Other proposals from Italy and china didn’t interest him.
” There was a very good proposal from a Spanish team, which Real Madrid rejected. I’d prefer not to say the name of the team,’ James told Colombian news outlet Gol Caracol.
‘I thought it was a done deal, but they didn’t let me go to the club I wanted to join. They wanted me to go to another team.
‘There was an offer from Italy, but it didn’t convince me, I felt it wasn’t good. My representative, Jorge Mendes, told me that a proposal had come from China, but I replied that I would not go. I wasn’t willing to do it because I feel I can still give a lot in Europe.
Rodriguez has made only 14 appearances for the Los Blancos in this 2019/20 season in all competitions and most likely he won’t be spending another summer in the city capital.
