Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale has decided to return to Real Madrid for one more season despite having a good spell at Spurs.

The Welsh international is currently on loan to Tottenham from Real Madrid.

Bale rejoined Tottenham from Real Madrid last year after his lack of regular playing time with Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.

However, when asked for an update on his future while in international service, Wales Online quoted Bale as saying “It’s no distraction for me coming into the Euros.

‘The main reason I came to Spurs this year was, obviously I wanted to play football first and foremost but going into the Euros, I wanted to be match fit.

“The original plan was only to do a season at Spurs, and then after the Euros, I would still have a year left at Real Madrid.

“My plan is to go back, and that is as far as I have planned, to be honest.”

Bale initially found playing time limited at Spurs, but has recently been in excellent shape, scoring 10 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions this season.
