Real Madrid are facing defensive trouble after their two first choice of center back Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos picked up injuries playing for their respective countries in UEFA Nations League on Tuesday.

Real Captain Sergio Ramos only played for 43 minutes before he was substituted in Spain’s 6-0 victory over Germany at Seville on Tuesday night.

A statement from the Spanish football federation said that the defender was suffering from “severe discomfort in his right hamstring.”

“[Ramos and Sergio Canales] are muscular injuries, we don’t think they’re too serious, although it’s annoying for the clubs when a player gets injured with the national team, I know what it’s like. We hope they aren’t out for too long,” the ex-Barcelona boss said after the match.”

The extent of Ramos injury is yet to be ascertain but the Spainish medical teams has reported that it will be made known by Wednesday

On the other hand Varane was substituted in half time in France 4-2 win over Sweden, as they advance to the finals of the UEFA Nations League.

“I had to take Raphael off because he had a little problem,” Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps said

This means that both center-backs will not be available for Madrid’s crucial league game against Villarreal on Saturday.

More Worries for Coach Zinedine Zidane without third-choice centre back Eder Militao, who tested positive for covid-19 two weeks ago.

If the injury crisis is confirmed that means Madrid will have only one recognized Center back in Nacho Fernandez who had just only returned from injury too.
