After a meeting between all 20 premier league clubs on Monday, an agreement was reached for clubs to return to training in small groups starting from Tuesday.

Premier League shareholders unanimously voted for a return to small group training starting from Tuesday, May 19th, the first step towards restarting the premier league, when safe to do so.


The league was suspended on March 13, amid the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Testing for coronavirus in clubs has since begun and will continue for the safety of all those involved.

“The health and well-being of all participants in the Premier league’s priority, and the safe return to training is a step-by-step process.

Another meeting will be held next week to discuss full contact training with all shareholders.

“Full consultation will now continue with players, managers, clubs, the PFA and LMA as protocols for full-contact training are developed.”
