A Premier League club official has insisted that premier league Players who refuse to return to training shouldn’t be paid their wages.

The premier league hopes to return in mid-June according to reports, all 20 clubs held a  meeting on Monday a have agreed to resume training on Tuesday  19th May.

Managers expressed concerns about not having enough time to prepare players before games, while the players were concerned about the safety of their loved ones.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero said last week “The majority of players are scared because they have family, they have children, they have babies, parents.”

In an interview with Sky Sports, a senior club official said if players feel concerned about returning to training then clubs shouldn’t pay their wages.

“I really don’t think they should be paid,” the club official said. “We are not sure what the situation is under their contracts at the moment.

“If you asked people in the street would you train and play football against people being tested twice a week, would you do it for £60,000 a week, they’d all say yes. It makes me very cross.”

After today’s meeting between all 20 premier league clubs has decided to resume training on Tuesday, with a target date for return set for the weekend of June 12.
