It

Inter was founded in 1908 after a breakaway of a group of players from the Millan cricket and football team (currently known as AC Millan).

It is believed that the breakaway was due to the parent club AC Millan focusing only on Home-based Italian players.

As a result of this issue, the founders of inter deduced the name Internazionale (international), which signifies it was open to players from all nationalities.

Inter have since from then won a total of 39 major trophies, which constitutes 18 Italian Scudetto (Serie A), seven Coppa Italia, Five Italian Supercopa, two intercontinental cups, one FIFA club world cup, three UEFA Cups and also three UEFA champions league trophies.

Behind Juventus with 52 titles and their parent club AC Millan with 49 titles, inter is the third most decorated club in Italian football history, they are also one of the eight clubs to have three or more European trophies.
