Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given an injury date on players who will not feature in Sunday’s premier league clash against Arsenal.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Alex Telles will not be available for the all-important match against the Gunners after he tested positive for the Covid-19.
The 27-year-old, who tested positive for the coronavirus earlier this week and is asymptomatic will not be making his premier league debut against Arsenal at the Old Trafford.
Telles had an impressive debut for the red devils in United 2-1 win over Paris Saint Germain in the UEFA Champions League and will now have to wait much longer before he features in the English Premier League.
Others who are still out due to injury include Eric Bailly, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, and Sergio Romero, while Anthony Martial is suspended after seeing red in the 6-1 defeat to Tottenham hotspurs, Solskjaer is satisfied with players who are available for the encounter.
Alex won’t be ready, no,’ Solskjaer told a Press Conference on Friday. ‘Apart from that I would think everyone else, at the moment, looks like they could be involved.
“[The squad looks] good. There were no injuries [from Wednesday] which of course is a big plus when you think of every game we play and the intensity. We’re getting better and better, I think everyone is seeing now that our fitness and sharpness is more up to speed and we should be ready for that game [on Sunday].”
He also confirmed the latest on goalkeeper Sergio Romero and defender Phil Jones, neither are yet to feature for United this season amid injury.
“Well, Sergio [Romero] has just come back into training this week, so he’s started his pre-season work and is working to get to his peak fitness with the goalkeepers,” he added.
“Phil has been injured and had an operation and working really hard to be back, hopefully he’ll get fit in December, when you’re injured you can’t get into the squad, he’s working really diligently and he’ll be coming back soon.”
