Official: Carlo Ancelotti returns as Real Madrid Head coach

Carlo Ancelotti

Real Madrid  have announced the signing of Carlo Ancelotti as their manager for the next three seasons, according to their official website.

Ancelotti returns to the club after spending the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons with the club, where he led Real Madrid to their 10th champions League title, FIFA Club World Cup and a Copa del Rey triumph.

However, this time he will face a very different challenge as Real Madrid can no longer rely on players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos or Luka Modrić in their prime, so it will be interesting to see if Ancelotti trusts the youngsters this time around.

Ancelotti will have some daunting task ahead of him. Will it keep Ødegaard and Brahim close? Where will the new signing David Alaba play? Could Bale or Isco get another chance to play for Madrid now that their former coach Ancelotti is close at hand?

All this will be revealed in some weeks to come.
