Manchester United have struck a deal to extend Odion Ighalo’s loan move from Shanghai Shenhua until end of January 2021.
Manchester United confirmed the loan extension through a statement released on their Official Website.
Ighalo’s parent club Shanghai Shenhua and United reached an agreement on Sunday but the paperwork were done today.
The 33- year-old was due to stay until May 31, but united have chosen to keep him for another 6 months.
This can be attributed to his fantastic form since joining the Red Devils in the January transfer window, he has scored 4 goals in 8 appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in all competitions.
Former Watford striker has been a fan of United from his childhood and had earlier expressed his desire to stay beyond the end of May.
“I would like to finish the season if it’s possible,” said Ighalo to BBC Sports
“I was in good form, good shape, scoring goals and now we’ve stopped now for over a month. I’ve given it my best and hopefully, we’ll come back to play.”
The premier league is due to start on June 17, with all 20 clubs having agreed to return to Contact training last week .
