Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo hopes to see to the end of his loan deal at United till the end of the premier league season.
Igahlo joined Manchester United in January from the Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua until the end of May.
The premier league was suspended amid the coronavirus and no known date has been fixed for its return.
With the Chinese league bid to start next month, the striker may be forced to return to China.
The 30-year-old has had a remarkable season so far, scoring 4 goals in 8 appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side.
“I would like to finish the season if it’s possible,” said Ighalo to BBC Sports
“I was in good form, good shape, scoring goals and now we’ve stopped now for over a month. I’ve given it my best and hopefully, we’ll come back to play.
“The team had good momentum before the pandemic started. At the moment I’m on loan, and this will cut short my time at the club.
Ighalo said the safety of everyone is a priority for now, before any decision to conclude the league if it has to completed.
The club, myself, every footballer is going through a lot because we can’t do what we love and what we know how to do best, so we’re just thinking about that for now and to finish the season before we start thinking about the contract, .he added
“I just want everyone to be safe and see what the future holds.”
Premier League clubs are to hold talks on Monday concerning a possible resumption date.
