Odion Ighalo fascinated to have extended his Manchester United loan until January 1 Sportelo

 

Odion Ighalo has revealed that he is excited to extend his Manchester United loan deal until January 2021, while also explaining how difficult it was before a decision was reached.

Ighalo joined Manchester United inon the deadline day of the January transfer window from Chinese league club Shanghai Shenhua until 31 of May.

Earlier this week Ighalo’s parent club and Manchester United reached an agreement for the striker to extend his initial loan deal until January of 2021.

Ighalo has disclosed that he is happy to extend his deal till next summer. He also said it was a difficult period for him while waiting for an agreement was reached between both parties

“I’m really happy. It’s a dream for me to be here. I’m buzzing and ready to go,’ he told MUTV.

“The last few days have been difficult as there have been different talks about it but now I’m really happy so I need to concentrate fully. I’m here until the end of January, so it’s good for me.

“I decided I want to stay and I’m happy. Since the first day I arrived, I made it clear that I wanted whatever it takes to continue that work. 

“It was very difficult, there were some talks, but I’m happy they finally agreed and got everything done. Everything is official now.

“I’m sending thanks to the Shanghai president and director for the support because they know this is what I want.

“So I’m thanking them, and I’m happy that this has happened. They wish me all the best too.”

The 33-year-old had earlier expressed his desire to remain at Old Trafford till the end of the season -his dream club as a boy.

The Nigerian International has scored 4 goals in 8 appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in all competitions in the 2019/20 season campaign for the Red Devils.
