Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may have scored two goals in the 3-2 win against Benfica, but felt Bukayo Saka was the best candidate for player of the match.
Aubameyang’s last goal, assisted by Saka, saw Mikel Arteta’s side advance to the knockout stages of the Europa League.
It was far from being an easy victory. Although Aubameyang put the Gunners in front, thanks to another assist from Saka, they were tied for goals by Diogo Goncalves and Rafa Silva.
But Kierney Tierney’s draw gave Arsenal hope and Aubameyang’s goal in the 87th minute sent them a 4-3 win on aggregate.
After the match, Arsenal Fan TV organized a poll for their team’s player of the match, using Saka for all four options.
Let’s put that to a poll… who was your Man of the Match?

They apologised to Aubameyang, who scored twice, for not making him one of the options.
The Gabon International responded after the match saying ” No sorry needed we all know”.
Aubameyang was delighted with the “character” displayed by his teammates as they kept their hopes of silverware alive.
Everyone is happy tonight,’ he told BT Sport. “This is what gives me power every day, take errors from the past and transform to strength.
“The team showed a lot of character and we deserved the win. It was a hard game. What we showed tonight will be an example for the future.”
