Premier League clubs are determined to complete the 2019/20 season but are yet to agree on a set date to complete outstanding fixtures in their latest meetings on Friday.

With the Premier League suspended since March 13 due to the coronavirus, a definite closing date was to be proposed for the season.

The 20 clubs did not, however, talk about rounding up the rest of the Premier League fixtures, by 30 June when they met in a shareholders meeting.

The premier league stands to lose over $1.2 billion pounds if the current season is not completed, clubs suggest a possible return to action.

But, the lockdown in England has been extended to May 7th, to aid limit the spread of the pandemic leaving league games in a dilemma hoping the current health situation improves.

A spokesperson for the Premier League has said that a few complex scenarios have been developed.

“We are actively engaging with stakeholders, including broadcast partners, and our aim is to ensure we are in a position to resume playing when it is safe to do so and with the full support of the government.” Said the spokesperson

“The health and wellbeing of players, coaches, managers, club staff and supporters are our priority and the League will only restart when medical guidance allows.

“Today’s shareholders’ meeting provided an opportunity to discuss possible scheduling models. It remains our objective to complete the 2019-20 season but at this stage, all dates are tentative while the impact of COVID-19 develops.”

The most recent estimates indicate 14,576 deaths in hospitals in Britain following successful COVID-19 tests.

There were 341,551 individuals tested for which 108,692 of whom were positive samples.
