Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has opened up on his recovery from Covid-19.

After been tested positive for the virus 10 days ago, which led to the postponement of all top flight football activities across England, the 37 year old Arsenal boss has revealed that he has recovered from the virus.

Arteta who was the first high profile personality in the English league to contact Covid-19 immediately went on self-isolating to curb the spread of the virus which also led to the closure of the gunners London colney base training centre and further self-isolating of the players and staff of the team.

“I’m very well now, I feel that I’ve recovered”. Arteta told Spanish television channel LA sexta. He also added that ” It took me three or four days to start feeling much better and with more energy, to leave the symptoms behind, and now the truth is that I feel very well”.

The Spaniard went on self-isolating after coming into contact with the President of Olympiacos Evangelos Marinakis during their UEFA Europa League clash who was also tested positive of the virus afterward.

The gunners told their players on Monday to still be at home saying it would be “inappropriate” to get back to training despite Arteta’s recovery.

The team was expected to return on the 24 March, base on the 14-day quarantine rule after Arteta was diagnosed with the virus, but due to measures taking by the government to curb the spread of the virus all plans to return to training have now been canceled.
