Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has reportedly received the sum of £8m in bonuses from the London club despite having not featured for the gunners for over seven months.

Mesut Ozil has received £8m loyalty in bonuses from Arsenal at the end of September, despite being left out of the first team of the gunners for more than seven months and counting.

The 31-year-old is Arsenal’s highest-paid player receiving a huge £350,000 per week in wages, but he is yet to feature in any game since football returned amid the Covid-19 for coach Mikel Arteta’s side.

The German International has not even been named in a matchday squad yet this season but as a result of his new contract signed in January 2018, he received a sum of £8m in September in the form of a loyalty bonus, according to The Athletic.

It was reported by the media that  Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr made a £5m bid for Ozil in the summer, but the player himself did not want to ply his trade in the Middle East.

But, Ozil refused to depart from the Emirate Stadium in the just concluded summer transfer window, instead choosing to see out his contract.

Ozil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for a then club-record fee of £42.5 m in 2013, has been left out of Arsenal Europa League squad and it remains to be seen if he will make the gunners premier league squad to be ascertained before the end of October.
