Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo has dismissed reports of a possible return to the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Manchester United Odion Ighalo announced his retirement from the Super Eagles alongside John obi-Mikel after an outstanding performance at the 2019 AFCON competition were he finished with the top scorer award with 5 goals ahead of Algeria’s Adam Ounas and Senegalese Sadio Mane and Nigeria emerged finished third place.
The 30-year-old stated that the reason for his retirement was to give opportunities to youngsters in the super Eagles and also he claimed that the flight-distance from China to Nigeria was another reason anytime he is called to represent the national team.
There were speculations in the media that the Manchester United striker is giving thought to a possible return to the Nigeria National team.
According to Allnigeriansoccer Ighalo is not reversing his decision to quit the Nigerian National Team amid speculation in the media that he could in the future.

This may be connected to the news of him sealing an extension loan deal with premier league side Manchester United whom he joined in the summer of 2019/20 season from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua on loan.
Ighalo notched 15 goals in 34 appearances for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and also represented Nigeria at the youth team.
