Manchester United handed Raphael Varane boost as he eyes  Real Madrid exit

Manchester United have received a boost in their race for Raphael Varane, as the defender seeks to leave Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain.

United are eager to buy a new central defender this summer and Varane is on their shortlist alongside Villarreal’s Pau Torres and Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.

Meanwhile, Varane will have just one year left on his current contract with Madrid this summer and has yet to aree on a new deal with the Spanish club.

According to AS, Varane has decided to leave Madrid at the end of the season as he seeks a new challenge in a different league.

The report claims that Madrid still have hopes of being able to convince Varane to stay, but are willing to sell him this summer if he officially asks to leave.

Real Madrid are set to have their eyes on united targets Torres and Kounde as potential replacements for Varane, while David Alaba who is set to depart Bayern by the end of the season is also on their list.
