The Deal to bring Jadon Sancho to old Trafford never saw the light of the day even after it was reported that the youngster had agreed on personal terms with United.
United and Borussia Dortmund did not reach an agreement for the England star, with Manchester United not willing to pay the Bundesliga £108m asking price.
Alternative Names such as Ousmane Dembele, Lucas Ocampos, and Luka Jovic were touted, as a replacement for Sancho but Cavani is the player that eventually arrived.
Cavani spent seven seasons at Paris Saint Germain winning six Ligue 1 championships, five Coupes de la Ligue, and four Coupes de France.
Manchester United also completed the signing of 18-year-old Uruguay forward Facundo Pellistri, on a five-year deal on the last day of the summer transfer.
