
Taiwo Awoniyi injury :Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi suffered an injury after landing awarkardly in the match between Mainz and Augsburg.
Mainz have given an update on the injury of Liverpool loanee, Taiwo Awoniyi in Saturday 1-0 loss to Augsburg.
Awoniyi has enjoyed a successful season since the resumption of the Bundesliga and was starting his fourth straight game for the Die Nullfünfer with talks of a possible loan extension for the Nigerian International.
The 22-year-old was reported to have suffered a severe concussion on the pitch after clashing mid air with Augsburg central defender Felix Uduokhai in the 17th minute of the encounter.
He received treatment on the pitch for about 5minutes before he was moved to an ambulance and driven to the hospital.

Mainz manager, Achim Beierlorzer spoke after the match confirming that the forward suffered a serious concussion but has recovered and remembers all things.

Mainz are currently 15th on the Bundesliga table with 31 points from 31 games. The former Gent forward is now set to miss his club next match against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, June 17 as required by concussions procedure.
