Liverpool starting XI vs Chelsea: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest.
Liverpool hopes to have both Alisson Becker and Fabinho back for the visit to Chelsea on Thursday.
Both missed the 2-0 victory at Sheffield United; Alisson is out of compassion after the death of his father, while Fabinho regains his physical form after a muscle injury.
Jota this week hopes to feature for the first time in nearly three months, having been out due to injury before the weekend only to get sick.
Liverpool were also boosted by the return of Naby Keita against the Blades, who played the final 10 minutes and last appeared in December.
Diogo Jota, meanwhile, was scheduled to be included in the team for the first time since December 9 after a knee problem; however, the forward fell ill at the team hotel overnight and was ruled out of the contest.
Klopp said: “With Diogo, he was with us in the hotel, but he got sick overnight and we had to send him home. It depends how quick he will recover, obviously.”
“He was in the squad [to face Sheffield United] and as I said before, he trained with the team and it all looked really good but unfortunately he got sick overnight. I think he will be available, but I don’t know.”
Liverpool predicted lineup (4-3-3): Allison; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Fabinho, Robertson; Thiago, Wijnaldum, Keita; Salah, Firmino, Mane
Injured: Van Dijk, Matip, Gomez, Henderson, Kelleher
The time for the match is 9:15 PM
