The departure of one of their most reliable player in Georginio Wijnaldum  who left for PSG on free, leaving a void in the Reds midfield.

Liverpool already have seven first-team midfielders on the books. One school of thought is that rising young Curtis Jones could close the gap and avoid the need to sanction a big-money buy in the summer.

However, several big names have been linked to the Reds and it seems they are eager to replace the Dutchman.

Brighton’s Yves Bissouma Leicester Youri Tielemana and Monchengladbach Neuhaus have all been identified as possible replacement in the middle of the park.

According to reports Neuhaus is quickly emerging as Klopp’s number one target.

The 24-year-old Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder was linked to Liverpool throughout May. An earlier report even suggested that he was “leaning toward change.”

At one point, it seemed that Liverpool had been lost. That’s amid claims that Neuhaus was ready to look forward to a move in the summer of 2022 to Bayern Munich.

But Liverpool are now the outstanding clear favourites to land Neuhaus as per Don Balon.
