Lionel Messi goal record for the Spanish giants continues as he becomes the first Barcelona player to reach 650 goal mark.


Barcelona captain Lionel Messi made history in his side’s 2-1 home win against Athletic Club on Sunday night.

Ronald Koeman’s side beat a relentless Athletic Club thanks to goals from Messi and Antoine Griezmann.

Messi’s goal against Athletic Club means the Argentine captain becomes the first player in the club’s history to score 650 goals for Barcelona in all competitions (456 in LaLiga), 49 of which were direct free-kick goals (38 in the league) per Opta Joe.
