Victor Osimhen earlier rejected a move to the Serie A ( Napoli), stating racism as the main reason for not accepting the deal.
But Lille President has urged the Nigerian international to make a move, claiming it is the best option for him at this stage of his career.
Lopez added that the forward has the strength to excel under pressure and has an extraordinary lifestyle.
Osimhen has been linked with a move to several European big clubs after a sensational season with Lille, netting 18 goals in all competitions in his first season.
The 21-year-old now looks to join Napoli following this advice from Lopez.
“If he[Osimhen] goes there [Napoli], he’ll be their superstar. Having Naples at your feet must be something in the life of a footballer. Victor has the strength to perform under pressure,” Lopez told France Football.
“We had several offers for Victor. We exchanged a lot. We get on well, and he has an extraordinary life.
“He asked me, and I gave him the name of the club that we think is best for him. And by his style of play, the coach and the progression he envisions.”
Osimhen recently won the Marc Vivien-Foe award for the best African player of the year league 1, and he was also included in League 1 team of the season.
