Super Eagles and Lille forward Victor Osimhen has been rated as the most valuable Nigerian players surprisingly above Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United Paul Pogba according to CIES Football Observatory
Osimhen has been ranked as the most valuable Nigerian footballer following a report released by CIES Football Observatory and he is valued at €64.3million euros above Cristiano Ronaldo €62.8 million and Paul Pogba at €50.6Million euros.
The Biannual CIES Football Observatory transfer value list comprises of 100 players across Europe’s top five leagues following the CIES algorithm.
The 21-year-old value has tripled since his move to League one club, Lille, netting 18 goals in all appearances for the Les Dogues. He is currently one of the most sought after strikers in the world, being in the wish list of top European elite Clubs.
With this development, any club that wishes to sign the former Wolfsburg forward will now have to pay big for his signature.
The Lille forward stands as the Fifth most valuable football player behind Egyptian Mohammed Salah (€144.9m), Senegal winger Sadio Mane (€139.2m), Morocco defender Achraf Hakimi (€79.0m) and Arsenal’s Ivory Coast International Nicolas Pepe (€73.1m).
Leicester City, Wilfred Ndidi was the other Nigerian player on the CIES Football Observatory top 100 list and is valued at €49.5 million euros.
Ndidi has also had a remarkable 2019/20 season with the foxes, helping his club that currently lies in third place in the premier league before the outbreak of the COVID-19.
