Lampard urges Chelsea not to get carried away by their present form

Coach Frank Lampard has warned his player’s not to “get caught up in the chat” after they secured the top of the premier league, following 3-1 victory over Leeds United.

Chelsea came form behind to defeat Leeds United 3-1,on Saturday with goals from Olivier Giroud, Kurt Zouma and Christian Pulisic, pushing the blues to the top of the premier league table momentarily.

The blues victory at Stamford bridge makes them unbeaten in nine premier league goals same as second-placed Tottenham who will play Arsenal today.

With 25 goals, Chelsea have recorded the highest number of goals in this season more than any other premier league side.

This suggests that the blues are a title contender for this season’s premier league title, however, Frank Lampard does not want his team to be carried away by their recent good form.

“It’s early December and there’s a long way to go. But we are progressing,” he told Sky Sports.

“Whether it’s this season we get to the heights we want, I don’t know. But we are moving in the right direction.

“When you bring in new players, have young players, you’re trying to integrate them. I’m really pleased. It’s work on the training ground and staff behind the scenes.

“At our level, at Chelsea, people will always question us. Our job is to not get caught up in the chat.

“We have to keep our feet on the ground. There’s a long, long way to go. At the minute we’re in a patch.”

Chelsea will hope to continue their outstanding performance when the host Krasnodar in the last group match of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
