Lampard pleads with Chelsea fans to be patient with struggling Kai Havertz

Chelsea manger, Frank Lampard has called on fans of  Chelsea to show Kai havertz patience amid his struggles since his  arrival at Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old signed from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer for an initial £62m which could rise to as much as £71m including add on.

Havertz has made eleven Premire league appearances, managing just one goal and struggled to make much of an impact in many of those games.

The German International faces a lot of competition for a place behind the main striker at Chelsea, with the likes of Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Mason Mount.

Lampard has no concerns about the youngster taking time to settle into the team, understanding that he had little pre-season and has suffered from Covid-19 already this season.

“I’ve mentioned some of the great players the Premier League has seen has taken time to succeed in the Premier League. Some of them have been, gone away, and come back to the Premier League and become great players.

“I’m not saying it will take a long, long time for Kai, but he does need time to settle in on and off the pitch. And that’s what’s happening, I’m very happy with him, I’ve got no problem with him but for Chelsea fans and us, we must give him time.”

Chelsea have suffered back to back defeat in the premiere, causing many fans to question the huge amount spent by Frank Lampard in the summer transfer. The blue’s next game will be on Monday, 21  against West Ham United.
