Klopp provides latest update on Diogo Jota and Fabinho injury, Alisson Becker availability

Jurgen Klopp says a decision has yet to be made on whether Alisson Becker will play this weekend after the tragic death of his father Jose Alisson on Wednesday

The body of the 57-year-old was found in southern Brazil after he drowned while swimming in his family home.

Liverpool travel to face Sheffield United on Sunday night and Klopp says he is not sure whether his goalkeeper will be with the rest of the team or not.

“We didn’t think about that so far, really. I don’t know,’ Klopp told a press conference on Friday.”

Speaking on injury updates on Fabinho, James Milner, and Diogo Jota.

The Wolves’ summer signing has been out of action since December with a knee problem, but he’s back in training and looking good.

However, Fabinho and Milner are not quite ready yet and will not be in contention for the clash with the Blades.

“Diogo trained now twice with the team, looks very good, very good but he was long-term out so we have to see what we can do with that, but he looks really good,’ said Klopp.

“Fab is not yet with the team. It can happen tomorrow, I think, he will have his first session with the team and the same for James Milner. That’s it, all the others are long-term.”

Speaking on the return of Diogo Jota after a long time out, Klopp added: “Of course it’s positive, it’s very positive that Diogo’s out after a long time.

“He came back in training is very positive, we just have to make a decision about when it makes sense for him, these kind of things

meanwhile, Jordan Henderson has been confirmed to be out for at least five weeks after a groin operation, while Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Virgil van Dijk all remain out for the long period.
