Jose Mourinho furious with Spurs players after Europa League defeat to Royal Antwerp

Jose Mourinho has expressed his displeasure with his players after they suffered a surprising 1-0 loss to Belgian side Royal Antwerp in the Europa League.

Tottenham coach Jose Mourinho saw his side go down in Belgium 1-0 to Royal Antwerp in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Mourinho’s side were far from their best as they were downed by Lior Refaelov’s first-half goal to give that gave the host a shocking win over the premier league club.

Spurs started the likes of Gareth Bale , Hugo Lloris, Harry Winks, and Dele Alli in the first 45 minutes and Mourinho made four changes at half time before replacing Gareth Bale with Harry Kane in the second half of the match.

The Portuguese tactician revealed he would have made all 11 substitutes if give the chance while stating that his choice of players has now been made easy.

“I would like to make 11 [changes]!’ Mourinho said after the match. ‘I didn’t make five as was afraid of a long 45 minutes.

“At half-time, I tried to improve the situation but was not enough. In the second half, we improved. In the end, Antwerp got what they deserved. The best team won and the worst team lost.

“You know what our best team is. I always like to think the players deserve an opportunity.

“We have a big squad. It’s also their opportunity to catch the chance with both hands and ask for more. Tonight my future choices are going to be very easy.”

With two rounds of matches played so far in Group J of the Europa League, Royal Antwerp leads the group with six points while Spurs and LASK have three each with Ludogorets on zero.
