“I can’t believe it” Jurgen Klopp concede tittle after shocking loss to Leicester

Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool’s Premier League title defense is now over after just 24 games following their dramatic 3-1 loss to Leicester City on Saturday.

The reigning champions took a well-deserved lead at King Power Stadium, but imploded within seven minutes of the second half, defending poorly, conceding three sloppy goals, and committing some blatant errors at the back.

Liverpool are 10 points behind leader Manchester City, who now have two games in hand, and Klopp feels the gap is too big, admitting that the Merseysiders are no longer in the running for the title.

Asked how Liverpool can close the gap, Klopp replied: ‘I don’t think we can close that gap this year, to be honest.”

He later added: “We are not worrying or whatever for the title, we are not silly.

“We have on Tuesday [against RB Leipzig in the Champions League] a tough game and then on Saturday I think again a derby [against Everton] so these are the things we are thinking about.

“And if we want to still have a good season in the end we have to win these games.”

When asked if that meant he was conceding the title, Klopp paused and replied: ‘Yes. I can’t believe it, but yes.”
