Highlights of Chelsea vs Atletico Madrid champions league, Ziyech and Emerson on target as Chelsea advance to the quarter-finals.

The Blues reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in seven years, following 2-0 Second leg victory over Athletico Madrid and advancing 3-0 on aggregate on Wednesday night.

Goals from Hakim Ziyech and Emerson secured a deserved victory for the London side.

Atletico started much more positively on the night knowing they had to win and pressing the Blues far higher up the pitch producing more shots in the first half than they did the entire first leg.

But Thomas Tuchel resilient defence kept to their task giving the Spanish side no breathing space.
Chelsea are yet to concede a goal at Stamford Bridge under the German.

Chelsea got away with a penalty call when Captain Azpilicueta appeared to grab Carrasco, who would’ve got to the ball first. VAR did not even look at the incident.

In the 34th minute, Hakim Ziyech gave Chelsea the lead after Kante won a header on the edge of his box and the ball dropped to Havertz.
who slide the ball to Werner and broke into the box, squared a  pass to Ziyech who fired the ball past Jan Oblak with a bit of fortune.

Diego Simeone’s side will not go down without a fight as Joao Felix fired a low drive forcing Edouard Mendy to make the save.

Havertz and Werner showed a glimpse of what they are capable of doing on a good day, putting Atletico Madrid’s defence under pressure.
