With 14 assists Kane edged out Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (both 12), meaning he has also been crowned Playmaker of the Season.

Only two other players have topped the goal and assist charts in the same campaign: Andy Cole in 1993/94, when he scored 34 goals and provided 13 assists, and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in 1998/99 with18 goals and provided 13 assists.

Kane has enjoyed a remarkable campaign and gave another reminder of his class in what might have been his final outing for Spurs.
