Government grants Serie A teams permission to resume full training next week

Italian Serie A teams have  been granted permission to resume full training on Monday

Italy prime minister Giuseppe Conte has granted Serie A clubs the permission to resume full training on Monday, “but always in compliance with the regulations” as reported by Sky Sports

The league was suspended on 9 March 2020 to help curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Serie A teams were permitted to resume  Individual training last week while maintaining safety protocols.

At a press conference on Saturday, Conte said: “From May 18 retail stores, hairdressers, beauticians, bars, restaurants, pubs, football teams’ training sessions, and museums will start again.

“But always in compliance with the regulations and with the control of the Region. he added.

“We need to understand if the conditions for the resumption of the football championship can be fulfilled in maximum safety. We need to have some more guarantees, we hope to arrive as soon as possible, “

Juventus currently top the Serie A table a point ahead of second-placed Lazio, with 12 rounds of matches left to be played.
