Former Schalke 04 Footballer Hiannick Kamba has been found in Gelsenkirchen four years after he was believed to be dead.

The former Schalke 04 player was found this week in Ruhr, Germany according to reports over four years after he was presumed dead.

It was reported that the defender died on January 9, 2016, in a car accident in congo.

The defenders former club VfB Huls published an obituary for Kamba in 2016, to mourn the death of the now found player.

But, German daily Bild has reported that Kamba, 33 is alive and back now works as a chemical Technician at an energy supplier in Ruhr.

Kamba represented Schalke 04 alongside, Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

It was alleged that Kamba reported the “Fake news” of his death to the German embassy in Kinshasa in 2018.

“Kamba claims he was abandoned by friends overnight in Congo in January 2016 and left without documents, money, and a cell phone,’ the prosecutor told Bild.

The Congolese ex-wife is currently being investigated for insurance fraud after claiming a six-figure amount on his life insurance.

According to the prosecutor, Kamba will now be ‘considered as a witness’ in the trial against his ex-wife, who is being investigated for fraud.  

He now lives in a house near Gelsenkirchen a city in western Germany, awaiting the judgment, of the fraud investigation.
