Ajax players test positive for covid: Ajax Amsterdam have confirmed that Eleven of their squad players have tested positive for the coronavirus ahead of their Tuesday champions league clash against FC Midtjylland.

Ajax announced on Monday that they will be traveling to Denmark with only 17 players ahead of Tuesday champions league clash against FC Midtjylland.

 

A club statement said: “Ajax travels with seventeen players to Denmark for the duel with FC Midtjylland. Kjell Scherpen and Brian Brobbey, among others, will be present.”

 

The names of the eleven players who tested positive for the coronavirus were not revealed due to privacy.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana and midfielders, Davy Klaassen and Ryan Gravenberch, and skipper Dusan Tadic are doubt for the trip due to injury.

A second tested will be conducted for those who tested positive for the virus with the hope of obtaining a negative result for more members of the squad before the match.

 

Ajax have recorded one draw and a loss in the 2020/21  champions league, the same group with Liverpool, FC Midtjylland, and Atalanta.
