Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani wants to leave the club after just one season at Old Trafford, according to Argentine media Ole.

The 34-year-old wants to return to South America to fulfill a childhood dream by seeing his career at Boca Juniors this summer.

The former Napoli star asked Boca Juniors who his teammates would be next season and asked for guarantees that they could make signings to contest the Copa Libertadores title.

The Uruguayan is willing to accept a large cut in his salary of £210,000 a week to make sure the move goes smoothly.

Cavani will demand a three-year contract worth the equivalent of what he would earn at Man United in a single season.

Recall that Boca Juniors has shown interest in signing Cavani in the past, and the report previously reported that the forward had told the club’s president, Juan Román Riquelme, that he would join the Argentine giants in the future.

Cavani has been out of the game since Man United’s 1-1 draw with West Brom last month.

Also he missed the Red Devils 0-0 draw against Chelsea and united 2-0 Manchester derby victory over rivals Man City at the Etihad stadium.

Cavani joined Man United on a free transfer last October from Paris Saint-Germain.
