€71m Chelsea Flop set to join Italian outfit

Former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri who is currently managing Lazio is reportedly looking to sign Chelsea Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalga on a one-year loan deal.

As reported by La Repubblica, Lazio want to seal a deal that would see them pay 50% of Kepa’s wages.

The Spaniard clashed with Maurizio when he was in charge of Chelsea in the 2019 Carabao Cup final versus Manchester City, with the goalkeeper refusing to be substituted in spite of suffering with cramp.

Last season Arrizabalaga lost his place in the Blues squad to Edouard Mendy, who joined from the Ligue 1 outfit Rennes for £22 million.

This season Kepa made just seven premier league appearances, having featured prominently in the two previous seasons following his £72 million move from Atletico Madrid.

In spite of his significant price tag, Kepa’s time at Stamford Bridge has been characterised by some high-profile errors.

Maurizio, who was appointed as Lazio chief last week having most recently been in charge of Juventus.
