Willian has put pen paper on a 3-year-deal with Arsenal after seven years at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal have announced the signing of Brazilian international Willian from rival club Chelsea on a 3-year deal worth £100,000 -a-week.
The 32-year-old contract with Chelsea expired, and the London club offered him less than what he demanded.
However, the Brazilian did not allow that deter as he sort for a better deal elsewhere. He has been linked with a move to a number of clubs, but preferring to stay in London with the Gunners.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder will be teaming up with his ex-Chelsea teammate David Luiz at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal coach is delighted with the arrival of the winger, revealing that he will give the gunners several options in the attack.
“I believe he’s a player that can really make a difference for us,” Mikel Arteta told Arsenal website.
“We have been monitoring him for the past few months, we had a clear intention to strengthen in the attacking midfielder and the winger positions [and] he is a player that gives us a lot of versatility, he can play in three or four different positions.
Willian has been assigned the number 12 Jersey previously won Stephan Lichtsteiner and Olivier Giroud.
