Dele Alli Tottenham midfielder is has been suspended for a match over Social Media post on CoronaVirus.
Dele Alli has banned for one match and fined £50,000 pounds by the Football Association after he posted a video on snap chat of him mocking an Asian man in February.
In the Video Alli was seen in an airport lounge while zooming in on an Asian man with the caption Corona whattttt, please listen with volume”.
He has, however, take down the video and apologised for his actions. The England International claimed a close friend of his betrayed him by selling the video to the media before he deleted it.
A statement from the FA “An apology was made in which the player detailed that he had ‘let himself down’, but it was the player’s evidence to the commission that he did not regard the content of the video to be of a kind to ‘cross the line’ into conduct answerable under Rule E3, in particular as the video, in his opinion, “had nothing to do with the ethnicity of the man”.
The 24-year-old will now miss an all-important match against Manchester United as Spurs host Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side on Friday next week.
