David Luiz Arsenal contract: Arsenal defender David Luiz has been offered another one-year contract extension even after his poor outing in 3-0 loss to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last week.
David Luiz has reportedly signed a one-year contract extension with the gunners, barely a week after a poor outing as Arsenal suffered defeat to the premier league champions Manchester City.
The 33-year-old was at fault for the two goals Arsenal conceded, he gave away a penalty and saw red as Arteta side were thrashed 3 -0 by 2nd placed Manchester City.
However, Luiz has been offered another chance at Arsenal, the dual of Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari also signed a four-year deal.
“Yeah, it’s very complicated with the timing of it and some of the legal issues that are involved with that. Arteta told Arsenal Official Website
“The club is trying to finalise everything in the next few hours and we have no choice, we have to do it and even more with all the injuries we’ve had. We are trying to resolve this.”
Luiz was criticised by Arsenal fans for his horror performance against Manchester City. He has since apologised while taking the blame for the loss.
Arsenal will travel to the St Mary’s Stadium on Thursday, June 25 as they hope to end their winless run against Southampton.
