Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea put club rivalry aside and reached out to Alisson with a heartfelt message after the Liverpool star’s father was found dead on Wednesday


The 57-year-old had been swimming in a dam on his property but was declared missing around 5 p.m. Wednesday according to reports.


The Local police have confirmed that no foul play was suspected in his death.


Alisson and his family have received messages of support from around the football world in the wake of the tragic news, and fellow goalkeepers De Gea and Thibaut Courtois are among those who have taken to social media.


“We are all with you,’ Manchester United’s De Gea posted with a picture of the pair embracing on the pitch.

In response to Never Walk Alone message, Real Madrid shot-stopper Courtois tweeted: ‘My condolences to Alisson and his family. Un abrazo grande (a big hug).’


Merseyside Neighbors Everton said “the thoughts and prayers of everyone on the blue half of Merseyside were with Brazil international and his family.


“The thoughts and prayers of everyone at Everton are with Alisson Becker and his family following the tragic news of the death of his father, Jose Becker,’ the club’s official Twitter page stated.


Alisson has been at the heart of Liverpool’s success with Jurgen Klopp and quickly became a fan favorite at Anfield after arriving from Rome in July 2018.


The Brazil International has made 114 appearances for the Reds and helped the club win the 2018/19 Champions League and their first league title in 30 years last season.
