Alaba transfer news: David Alaba’s camp has revealed that there are “no plans ” for the defender to join Chelsea in the January transfer window despite uncertainty surrounding his Bayern future.
Bayern Munich defender David Alaba is expected to be out of contract at the end of the season and could be available for free if no deal is reached with his club.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to several premier league clubs including Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United after it was reported that he failed to reach a new deal with Bayern.
However, according to Sky Germany, Alaba’s camp currently have ‘no plans’ to speak with Chelsea about a possible switch to Stamford Bridge.
There have been reports suggesting that Chelsea are no longer interested in signing the Austrian International, with the current performance of their new signings Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell.
Sky Germany also report that it is ‘difficult to imagine’ Alaba extending his deal with Bayern, which means he will be lining up for a new club next season.
Herbert Hainer, the Bayern president, recently revealed that the club have rescinded their contract offer to Alaba. The Austria international is said to have greater wage demands and will now seek offers at other clubs according to Bild.
