Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo made history Tuesday night in the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg 2-1 against Inter Milan.

Ronaldo’s double against Inter Milan gave Andrea Pirlo’s men an advantage before the semi-final tie of the second leg next Tuesday in Turin.

Lautaro MartΓnez did score a goal for Antonio Conte’s men at San Siro.

Ronaldo’s two goals against Inter Milan mean that the Portugal captain now stands out as the most prolific scorer in football, according to Marca.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star has already scored 763 goals in his career, a figure that exceeds the 762 scored by Josef Bican and PelΓ©.

The records of Bican and Pele have been disputed, but there is no confusion about Ronaldo’s goals.

Ronaldo scored 5 goals for Sporting, 118 for Manchester United, 451 for Real Madrid, 87 for Juventus and 102 for Portugal.

However, various sources give Bican up to 805 goals, but Marca has only counted goals in the professional or similar category.

Romario has 740 goals, while Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has scored 720 goals to be in the top five.

Ronaldo’s position in the history books is assured according to his records, at least for now.

The Juve number 7 now hopes to continue his impressive display for La Vieja when he faces Roma this weekend in a Serie A match.
