FIFA has donated $150 million dollars as a first step of financial relief plan to help its 211 member Nations amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The world football governing body FIFA has donated $150 million dollars to its member Nation to provide immediate financial assistance to those affected by pandemic
Each football National governing body is expected to get $500 from FIFA as part of efforts to combat the Economic effect of the pandemic.
A press release from FIFA president Gianni Infantino Read “The pandemic has caused unprecedented challenges for the entire football community and, as the world governing body, it is FIFA’s duty to be there and support the ones that are facing acute needs,
This is the first step of financial relief in response to the challenges faced by member Nations due to the COVID-19 crisis, FIFA hopes to implement other stages soon.
“This starts by providing immediate financial assistance to our member associations, many of which are experiencing severe financial distress.
“This is the first step of a far-reaching financial relief plan we are developing to respond to the emergency across the whole football community. he added.
“Together with our stakeholders, we are we assessing the losses and we are working on the most appropriate and effective tools to implement the other stages of this relief plan.”
