Chukwueze came off the bench to help the yellow submarine secure all three points in dramatic last minutes of the game between Villarreal and Celta Vigo at the
Estadio Municipal de Balaídos on Saturday.
The first half of the contest was exhausting, with both teams having to settle for a goalless draw, this may be due to the long absence of playing football amid the coronavirus.
Second half Substitutions from Coach Javier Calleja saw the game pick up. Samuel Chukwueze and Carlos Bacca came in simultaneously in the 58th minute, while Manuel Trigueros soon joined the party nine minutes after.
In the first minute of the added time, Chukwueze found Carlos Bacca but the forward was beaten to the ball by the fast-approaching Celta goalkeeper.
The Nigerian International capitalised on runoff of the ball from the incident and fired a shot that was quickly blocked, but Manuel Trigueros was on hand to send the ball into the back of the net of the host from a close range.
The win takes Javier Calleja’s side to 8th position On the La Liga table with 41 points after 28 rounds of matches.
