Chelsea submit 3rd huge bid for Inter star and transfer target

Achraf Hakimi

Chelsea  have offered an improved bid in a cash plus player in exchange for Inter Milan star Achraf Hakimi according to reports in Italy.

The Blues are being keen to bring in defensive reinforcements and Hakimi has become a prime target with widespread reports in recent weeks suggesting that Chelsea are working on a deal to sign the attacking right-back.

After having their initial offer rejected, it appears Chelsea have now put Inter Milan’s resolve to the test with a new offer.

According to The Mirror, the Blues have put £43m plus Emerson Palmieri on the table in exchange for Hakimi’s signature.

Chelsea will give Inter the option to choose from three other players that could be used as part of any deal. Davide Zappacosta and Tammy Abraham are two names mentioned but perhaps surprisingly, the report also claims Chelsea are prepared to use Mateo Kovacic as bait to land Hakimi.

How Inter Milan will respond to Chelsea’s latest proposal remains to be seen, but Hakimi would be an interesting signing if West Londoners can reach a deal this summer.

The 22-year-old has built a reputation as one of the best attacking full-backs in European football, scoring 7 goals and providing 11 more assists last season to help Inter win the Serie A title.

The Moroccan international can play as a right-back, but has excelled in the right-back position during his time in Italy, making him a perfect fit in Tuchel’s 3-4-2-1 formation at Stamford Bridge.
