Chelsea reportedly extends Thiago Silva’s contract by 12 months

Chelsea has reportedly extended the contract of their centre back defender, Thiago Silva by 12 months.

The reports however revealed that the contract was recently agreed and wouldn’t be made public until after the Uefa Champions League final vs. Man City is played in Porto, Portugal later this month.

Thiago Silva joined the Blues last summer and was one of the key players signed by former coach Frank Lampard who has been very instrumental in the Blues squad.

With Silva’s recent fine performance at the back for Chelsea, the West London side are determined to keep him for another season.

Football transfer expert, Romano Fabrizio also claimed that Silva is keen on remaining at Stamford Bridge.

The reports claimed that both parties are happy with the contract extension on offer, though an official confirmation is not expected before the Champions League final.

Apart from Silva, Chelsea are also reported to be in early talks with midfield players; Jorginho and N’Golo Kante over extending their stays at Stamford Bridge.
