Chelsea have Issued Warning message to Manchester City and Pep Guardiola amid interest in star player

Chelsea have told Manchester City that their star player Reece James is not for sale and will remain a key figure in their first-team.

City have kept close tabs on James for some time, as per the Athletic, while City are also expected to bid for fellow England stars Harry Kane and Jack Grealish this summer in a bid to rebuild for next season.

But the Blues will not accept any offers for their talented academy graduatee.

James is highly rated by Chelsea’s hierarchy and Blues boss Thomas Tuchel sees the 21-year-old as an essential part of his team.

Chelsea’s pursuit for Inter Milan winger Achraf Hakimi had raised some concerns on James’ future as he could be deemed surplus to requirement, but the defender has been assured that this is not the case.

James signed a new contract last year worth around £100,000 a week during his great season at Stamford Bridge.

But his meteoric rise to Premier League stardom, which has seen him make 84 appearances in all competitions, has impressed Chelsea bosses, who are already discussing the possibility of offering him a new and improved deal.

Chelsea are also reportedly set to open contract talks with French midfielder N’Golo Kante over a potential new deal ‘in the coming months.

Kante only has two years left to run on his current contract with Thomas Tuchel’s side, however, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the European Cup defending champions are planning to open contract talks with the World Cup-winning midfielder in the next few months.
