Chelsea transfer news: Christensen set to be offered a new deal following his fine form under Thomas Tuchel.

 

Chelsea center-back Andreas Christensen will reportedly be offered a new contract after impressing manager Thomas Tuchel.

The 24-year-old has appeared ten times in the Premier League this season and played in the Blues’ recent win over Liverpool, helping to keep a clean sheet against the reigning champions.

 

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea will begin contract talks with Christensen in the coming weeks.

 

The London club have been impressed by his solid performance on defense since Tuchel joined the club in January.

 

The Denmark’s international has aroused the interest of various European parties.

Therefore, Chelsea will offer you a major new deal to prevent any interest from being turned into offers, with hid current contract set to expires in 2022, and Chelsea will offer him a long-term extension.

The Blues have only lost once in the league this season when Christensen has appeared along with César Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger on defense, he managed to keep Liverpool’s famous three forwards at bay.

 

Christensen anchored the back three in Tuchel’s favorite 3-4-3 formation.

The German coach, who was in charge of Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Stamford Bridge, wants Christensen to take on that role in the future.

However, the player has alot of competition as a central defender.Kurt Zouma has already played 25 times this season and he will also have to compete with Brazilian Thiago Silva when he returns from a thigh injury.

The defender looks set to start as Chelsea host Everton on in the Premier League on Monday night.
